Overnight in a Snow or Glass Igloo
Imagine yourself sleeping in an Igloo made of Snow. It is totally quiet. Lights inside ice illuminate the Igloo. These make the atmosphere so exciting that never get bored of marvelling it, until you fall to deep, comfortable sleep in your warm down sleeping bag.
When sleeping in the Glass Igloos the customer is able to marvel the amazing northern lights and the millions of stars in the sky. The experience is also unforgettable when there is a snowstorm. Kakslauttanen is a very good place for seeing the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis, as in the area there are not so many electric lights outside and it is north enough so that the probability of them is very high from late August to late April.

Ice Swimming
Under the ice, the water of the frozen lake or sea always stays over the freezing temperature. This is nature's smart way keeping the flora and fauna in the water alive even in the winter. In Lapland people have taken advantage of this since the times began. There is nothing more relaxing than to dip to a little hole in the ice. It has been proved that this has also different healthy effects to your body. After the years ice swimming has come very popular again in Finland. Many locals dip to icy cold water a couple of times a week, with or without the sauna.
In the Hotel & Igloo Village Kakslauttanen it is possible to try this truly arctic experience. There is always a whole ready and freely to use in the river crossing Kakslauttanen. Go a head and try it - with or without the sauna!
